Sit Still collects nothing. There is no account and no server of ours, so nothing you do in the app is sent to us.
iPad works like iPhone. Where Android differs, the section says so.
Your sessions, notes, tasks, whiskers, rooms, cats, settings and the apps you chose to block. It all lives in the app’s own storage, and deleting the app deletes it.
iPhone: if you turn on iCloud backup (it is off until you
do), a copy of your rooms, accessories, whiskers, sessions, notes and tasks is
kept in your own iCloud account. We have no access to it, and you can delete it from the
app.
Android: if your phone’s backup to Google is on, Android
may include the app’s storage in it, under your Google account. We never
see it.
Sit Still uses Apple’s Screen Time frameworks to block apps during a session, at bedtime, and by the rules you make. It reads no usage data: not which apps you open, or for how long. For limits, iOS only tells the app when the apps you chose have reached the minutes you set. The apps you pick come back as tokens the app cannot turn into names, and stay on the device.
All three are switches in Android’s Settings that you can turn off at any time. The apps you pick stay on the device.
To know which monthly rooms are open, the app reads the time from one empty request over a secure connection: to Apple on iPhone, and on Android to the address Android uses to check for a connection. It carries no identifier and nothing about you. It happens at most every fifteen minutes while the app is open, and if it fails the app uses your device’s clock.
Android tablets download the wide room paintings from Google Play, as part of the app. Nothing of yours is sent. On iPad they come with the app.
If you turn on Reminders sync, the app reads and writes its own Reminders list and any reminder you link, on your device. Nothing is copied off it.
The optional morning list of tasks is a notification scheduled and shown on your phone.
Saving a wallpaper or a Look back picture adds one image to your photos. On iPhone the permission is add-only; on Android the image goes to Pictures/Sit Still. The app reads nothing back.
The subscription is sold by Apple and Google. The app only asks the store whether you own it. We never see your name, email or payment details. The stores handle purchases under their own privacy policies.
The app may show Apple’s or Google’s own rating prompt. Any rating goes to the store, not to us.
Send feedback opens your own mail app with a message you can edit. It includes the app version, your device model, the system version and a note on any permission problem. It reaches sitstill@alteraapps.com only if you send it.
None. No analytics, ads or crash reporting, and no third-party code beyond the stores’ own libraries for the subscription and the rating prompt. Nothing is sold or shared. Apple and Google may keep their own anonymous download and crash statistics under their policies.
alteraapps.com is a set of static pages on GitHub Pages, with no cookies, analytics or third-party scripts. GitHub keeps ordinary server logs under its own privacy statement.
Sit Still is suitable for any age but not directed at children, and collects no information from anyone.
If a future version ever collects anything, this page, the App Store privacy label and the Google Play Data safety section will say so before it ships.
